It was great to see so many of you at Back to School Night--thanks for coming! We're hard at work and busy in Room 11. There were some scheduling challenges with GATE services and Mr. Young but we should be on track now. Students will meet with Mr. Young on Mondays from 12:30 - 2:00. We are excited to have started our art lessons with Ms. Shamrock on Thursdays. We will be working on various pieces of cultural art beginning with Day of the Dead masks. Students should have an oversized shirt to cover their clothing when we are working with messier materials. Please send that in as soon as possible. All students have their new recorders and are learning notes and breath control with Dr. John. Tuesdays are library days with Mrs. Velde, our library assistant. Students may check out two books and need to return or renew them the following week. Students are responsible for replacing lost or ruined books. Any student who has missing books from last year will not be able to check out until they find or pay for the books. Parents are also welcome to check books out. Homework is due every day except Monday. Neatness counts! Remember that Fridays are spirit days--we all wear our school shirts or at least teal or purple.
